Spectatorship with Zlatina Emilova Nikolova
How is spectatorship changing in our digital age? This presentation will offer some fascinating insights.
- Total running time 90min
Zlatina Emilova Nikolova’s survey of film spectatorship questions the impact of streaming and digital technologies of viewers’ relationship to moving image. Reflecting on the transformation of our attitudes to moving image throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries, this talk seeks parallels between early film spectatorship and the more contemporary digital world by analysing early film culture’s spaces and behaviours, the experience of communal spectatorship and the contemporary options to view moving image online.
