One of Herzog’s greatest films, this profoundly moving documentary concerns people who are deaf-blind and others still more isolated by other disabilities. At once a heartfelt tribute to the courage and kindness of 56-year-old Fini Straubinger, campaigning and caring for others notwithstanding her own troubled history, and a hugely perceptive meditation on life, love, communication and human happiness, the film is quietly magnificent.

Joint ticket available with Werner Herzog’s Tales of Life and Death: An Illustrated Talk on Wednesday 10 January £14, concessions £11 (non-Members pay £2 more). Book in person at the box office or by phone on 020 7928 3232.

See the film with BSL intro by deaf filmmaker Sam Arnold on Wednesday 17 January.
