Natalie Portman plays the grieving Jackie Kennedy and Hurt, in his last feature role, plays a priest.
USA-Chile-France-Hong Kong 2016
Dir Pablo Larrain
With Natalie Portman, John Hurt, Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig
Dealing with the events following the assassination of JFK and leading up to his funeral, Jackie is a study of a grieving woman determined to ensure that her priority to mourn her husband isn’t dictated by those around her, who want to bury a president. In a film released shortly before his death, Hurt’s performance as the priest is a fitting swansong from one of our greatest actors.
