Marvellous matinee thrills abound as a gang of ruthless outlaws terrorise a township in this strange and savage British western shot in South Africa.
Standing tall, High Noon-style, is Hargis (a harassed Richard Todd), sole representative of the law facing up to the murderous gang of marauders led by leering Luke (a superbly sinister Lionel Jeffries).
This outstandingly odd and often violent oater – strikingly shot in colour – also boasts an animated Anne Aubrey, James Booth at his nastiest and British rocker Marty Wilde scowling moodily from beneath a Stetson. Deftly directed by old hand Ken Annakin, this weird western was written off by many critics.
