Twelve-year-old Eve is sent to live with her father’s wealthy family, the Laurents, in their sprawling Calais mansion. Oblivious to the migrant crisis on their doorstep, the Laurents’ inward gaze is focused on ensuring the stability of their construction company and familial unit. Haneke presents a piercing satire of the disengagement of the privileged with the world around them.
Contains themes of suicide.
