Join us for two very early television documentary programmes that take a closer look at renowned British artists Graham Sutherland and John Piper. They introduce us to their most important works, which encompass portraits, landscapes, architecture and theatre. For Sutherland, we find balance in his work likened to the taste of bitter-sweet fruit, whilst Piper outlines his work and shows the development from preliminary sketches to final oil painting.
