Waad al-Kateab falls in love, gets married and gives birth to Sama during the uprising in Aleppo, Syria. Filming all the time, her camera intimately captures moments of tenderness, laughter, loss, survival and resistance, as Waad tries to decide whether to flee the city to protect her daughter, when leaving means abandoning the political struggle for which she had already sacrificed so much. Both deeply intimate and sweepingly epic in scope, For Sama will grip you from start to finish. We’re very pleased to be welcome Emmy award-winning filmmakers behind the film for a Q&A hosted by broadcaster Jon Snow.
