When New York college professor Vivian escapes to a Reno ranch for a quickie divorce the last thing she expects to find is love in the arms of a beautiful young woman 10 years her junior. This 1950s- set love story broke the mould for lesbian filmmaking upon its release, and remains one of the most sensual and beautifully shot lesbian films of all time.
The screening on Wednesday 16 February will be introduced by BFI Head Librarian Emma Smart.
