‘Everyone wants to be Cary Grant. Even I want to be Cary Grant’
Born in Bristol in 1904, Cary Grant went from teenage vaudeville performer to Broadway actor to Hollywood star, with a career spanning three decades. Handsome and urbane, with a real gift for both physical and verbal comedy, he was also impressive in darker, more ambiguous roles, particularly for Alfred Hitchcock. Join us in the BFI Reuben Library this month as we celebrate this quintessential leading man with a special display of books and other materials from our collections.
