Cab driver Max thinks he’s in for an easy ride when he picks up Vincent – a suavely dressed man who offers a high fare to be driven around a variety of L.A. locations. However, Vincent is an assassin clocking on for a long night shift. Cruise is superbly menacing as a cold-hearted villain in Michael Mann’s magnificent neo-noir – an unnervingly impressive killer handling weapons with audacious technical skill and a slick, ruthless rhythm.
The screening of Collateral on Thursday 22 May 18:00 NFT1 will be introduced by Ian Haydn Smith, writer and curator.
