Varda’s richly detailed and casually cool portrait captures two hours in the life of indulged and indulgent singer Cléo, as she contemplates her own mortality while awaiting medical test results. Wandering aimlessly through Paris, and under the leering gaze of its male population, Cléo dresses and undresses her image in an examination of womanhood and the self.
