New Writings: The Classical Animated Documentary
Hear from the author of the first book-length study into the animated documentary.

- Total running time 90min
In a crossover that celebrates this month’s anime season, the library welcomes Dr Cristina Formenti, Assistant Professor at the University of Udine, who will be in conversation with Chris Pallant, Reader in Screen Culture at Canterbury Christ Church University and President of the Society for Animation Studies, to discuss her new work The Classical Animated Documentary and its Contemporary Evolution. This is the first book-length study to provide a historical insight into the animated documentary, in particular looking closely at its ‘classical age’ from 1940 to 1985. Join us for what’s sure to be an animated discussion!
Tickets £6.50.
