Set in the heat of early 1970s Black Power, Spike Lee’s visually captivating drama, based on real events, finds a Black cop and his white partner, teaming up to bring down a local violent chapter of the KKK. Belafonte’s striking appearance, a griot bearing witness to racial terror, possesses a gravity and moral authority gained from a lifetime’s social activism combined with his mature artistry.
Contains terms of racial abuse that viewers may find upsetting.
The screening on Thursday 28 December will have descriptive subtitles including descition of non-dialogue audio.
