Barbara Stanwyck’s first western focuses on ‘Little Miss Sureshot’ and her rise to fame with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.
Dir George Stevens
With Barbara Stanwyck, Preston Foster, Melvyn Douglas
The first western for Stanwyck (and, indeed, Stevens) was based on the life of ‘Little Miss Sureshot,’ one of the most famous sharpshooters in American history. It focuses on Oakley’s rise to fame with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show and her feelings for fellow star Toby Walker. Stanwyck oozes confidence in her portrayal of the determined and spirited protagonist.
