NEW Animal Farm: a KS3 and KS4 Study Day
Tue 10 Mar 2020 10:30 – 15:00
This event is intended for teachers and students only.
This event is linked to the AQA and Edexcel GCSE English specifications and is suitable to both KS3 and KS4 students with the added appeal of using rare archive materials. The morning will comprise a clip-based lecture looking at the original text by George Orwell and exploring how it was adapted by John Halas and Joy Batchelor. Using materials from the Halas and Batchelor’s Collection in the BFI Special Collections as literacy tools, students and teachers will be encouraged to engage with the text in a new way. In the afternoon there will be an introduced screening of the film and a Q&A with Vivien Halas.
Led by David Brook, freelance film and drama practitioner
