A German writer finds himself unexpectedly lumbered with the young daughter of a woman he met in New York before flying back to Europe. As they drive around in search of the girl’s grandmother’s home, the odd couple’s relationship begins to feel the strain. A lyrical but mercifully unsentimental road movie, it features lustrous monochrome images shot on 16mm by the late, great Robby Müller.
