The final part of the Glaciation Trilogy unfurls over 71 meticulously crafted scenes. Haneke weaves together the chance encounters and coexistence of disparate strangers whose lives intersect at a shooting in a Viennese bank. In place of a singular protagonist, the filmmaker gives equal weight – narratively and emotionally – to his characters, highlighting the alienating effect of modern urban life through episodes that are ominously punctuated by news reports from global conflicts.

Contains scenes of graphic violence.
