A dazzling black-and-white ‘city symphony’ for the modern age.
Dir Thierry Loa
Shot over five years across 100 locations, 20-22 Omega shows multiple environments, activities, events and human behaviour. Shot exclusively in black-and-white super 16mm, and accompanied by an original soundtrack of organ music, choir songs and Inuit throat singing, the film evokes the dizzying urban documentaries known as the ‘city symphony’ cinema of the 1920s. Thierry Loa brings this genre into the 21st century to tell the story of the postmodern western world, full of machines, technology and dense crowds.
