Truman Burbank is an upbeat insurance salesman who thinks he lives a comfortable life in a suburban American town. He is, in fact, a guinea pig on a giant soundstage in Los Angeles, populated by actors playing characters in his life. A dark comedy anticipating our collective fascination with reality television, The Truman Show digs deeper than a straightforward satire, throwing into question the very definition of happiness.
