Relaxed screening
Trains!
+ intro and discussion
A vital selection of British shorts looking at how train travel has transformed over the course of 200 years.
- Total running time 106min
Join us for this programme of rarely screened short films, exploring the beauty, history and imagined futures of British railways, sourced from the rich collection of British Transport Films held at the BFI National Archive. From breathtaking studies of railway development since 1825 to the tantalising prospect of direct international rail travel, this programme also features a new work by emerging filmmaker and prolific train-goer Katie Edwards.
Hosted by filmmaker and film programmer Edward Smyth (The Golden Squacco Heron), the screenings will be followed by a discussion that examines the films from a neurodivergent perspective.
