Aspiring writer Jack Torrance relocates with his family to Colorado’s remote Overlook Hotel, but his sanity is soon challenged by the ghosts and tormented memories that reside there. The result is one of the most chilling and haunting horror films. A loose – and for some, controversial – adaptation of Stephen King’s bestseller, Kubrick’s quintessential hotel film probes class and social alienation, toxic masculinity, and cycles of trauma.
Contains themes of domestic violence or abuse.
