In this richly illustrated introduction to Ritwik Ghatak’s body of work, our invited guests will discuss the trajectory of Ghatak’s filmography and his contribution to world cinema as an actor, writer, director and educator. The talk will offer a roadmap through Ghatak’s films with a particular focus on themes, motifs and style, and consider the relevance of his radical cinema today.
Season curator, filmmaker and academic Sanghita Sen, filmmaker and author Nasreen Munni Kabir and producer Adam Dawtrey will join us for this discussion hosted by academic Manishita Dass.
