Punk icon Jordan stars as a night receptionist at the legendary Portobello Hotel, where eclectic guests, portrayed by figures of London counterculture, come and go throughout the night. Eerie and dreamlike, Rose’s film reflects upon the monotony of work and the transient nature of the hotel. She atmospherically captures London’s underground scene in the early 1980s, aided by Jon Jost’s cinematography and a score by Simon Jeffes of Penguin Cafe Orchestra.
