Celebrating the launch of The Marilyn Monroe Century (Abrams Books), a stunning new visual biography, authors Joshua John Miller and Mark A. Fortin join us for a special pre-screening talk, sharing stories from the book, which challenges the myths and reframes Monroe as an astute artist. The Marilyn Monroe Century documents the star’s transformation from Norma Jeane to Marilyn through never-before-seen photographs and diary entries by Bruno Bernard (‘Bernard of Hollywood’ and Miller’s grandfather) that have never been publicly released.
The talk will be followed by a screening of Niagara. After the screening there will be a book signing of The Marilyn Monroe Century: From Norma Jeane to Icon in the foyer. The Marilyn Monroe Century: From Norma Jeane to Icon is available to buy in the BFI Shop.
See the alternative screening of Niagara on 35mm + intro on Wednesday 17 June.
See the Library Talk event New Writings: I Wanna Be Loved By You – Marilyn Monroe, A Life in 100 Takes.
Temporary VAT-reduced rate for children: prices have been adjusted for all under 16’s tickets booked between 25 June and 1 September for screenings during the same period.
