This defining melodrama of the pre-Code era languished in legal limbo for 90 years after a plagiarism lawsuit removed it from circulation. Crawford stars as a socialite driven to desperate measures by a possessive former lover. Brown directs with razor-sharp tension, while Adrian’s costumes, especially the ‘Letty Lynton dress’, sparked a nationwide fashion craze, hailed by Edith Head as cinema’s greatest influence on fashion.
New 4K restoration by Warner Bros. Discovery.
