Acclaimed director, writer and producer Gurinder Chadha joins Professor Shelley Cobb to discuss her filmography and archive. Known for work that challenges perceptions of women, race and Britishness, this special event will examine Chadha’s filmmaking practice, with selected highlights from her archive, now housed at the BFI National Archive.

Gurinder Chadha’s digital archive has been acquired and is currently being catalogued as part of the Our Screen Heritage project. Additionally, her paper archive has been acquired and is being catalogued under the Women’s Screen Work in Archives Made Visible project.

This event will have live captions and a BSL interpreter.
