Synopsis
Based on John Pearson’s book The Life of Ian Fleming, Reg Gadney’s screenplay manages to be both immensely informative and tremendously entertaining, with some of the more outrageous exploits of Fleming’s life mirroring his most famous creation – Bond. A darker side to the author emerges – he called his mother ‘M’ and it was she who noted that he could never fully commit to anyone. The film effortlessly balances the adventurer lifestyle with the deeper intricacies of the man himself, thanks to Boyd’s direction and Dance’s nuanced performance.
We are delighted to confirm that the star of Goldeneye, Charles Dance, and the director, Don Boyd, will be on stage after the screening to talk about the production and take audience questions.
