Royal heir Paul Atreides journeys with his family to Dune, a planet rich in the spice Melange – the most sought-after substance in the universe – which enables travel through space. But they have been double crossed by the Emperor and treacherous House of Harkonnen. It’s left to Paul to realise an age-old prophesy, of a leader who will bring peace to the universe. This grand-scale epic, the first adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novels, is wilder and more surreal than the recent films, and at times all the better for it.
