A German salesman and a drifter travel the Sertão, screening aspirin adverts to isolated communities. Blending road movie and wartime chronicle, Gomes’ film reflects on displacement, friendship and cinema’s seductive power. Luminous landscapes and quiet observation create a moving portrait of encounter, survival and the stories we ‘sell’ in order to endure.
The screening of Cinema, Aspirins and Vultures on Thursday 11 June will be introduced by season co-curator Adriana Rouanet.
Temporary VAT-reduced rate for children: prices have been adjusted for all under 16’s tickets booked between 25 June and 1 September for screenings during the same period.
