While travelling Australia in search of work, two brothers collide with an oncoming car. The sole survivor is well looked after by the inhabitants of nearby Paris, but is disturbed by their strange behaviour and the frequency of road accidents in the area. A cult Ozploitation comedy, Weir’s debut feature is a biting satire of small-town mores. It was also one of Stanley Kubrick’s favourite films.
Digitally remastered by the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia. Find out more.
