Employing a Bollywood twist on the Jane Austen classic, Bride and Prejudice sees the Bakshi sisters being primed for marriage in India. Unlike older sister Jaya, headstrong Lalita has grander ideas than love. But that changes when she meets Will Darcy, a handsome and wealthy American. A comedy of culture-clashes, Chadha’s film is a unique and camp exploration of love, tradition and anti-imperialism.
