Belle is sent to live with a reclusive beast, knowing little about the place and the spell cast across the entire household. As Belle and her erstwhile captor grow closer, her father and the villagers decide to act, which puts everyone in terrible danger. The seamless blend of traditional and CGI animation, particularly in the now-classic ballroom sequence, set a benchmark for what animation could achieve. It became the first full-length animated feature to be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar.
