Originating from Almodóvar’s 1995 film The Flower of My Secret, which looks at a group of junior doctors being trained to persuade a grieving family to donate their loved one’s organs, All About My Mother touches on faith, the AIDS crisis, queer identities, existentialism and social stigma when Manuela loses her only son in a car accident.
