A pair of twin zoologists, grieving the death of their wives in a collision involving a car and a Swan, gradually form a bond with the woman who was driving the vehicle that caused their loved ones’ demise. The brothers become obsessed with death and decay in animals, creating time-lapse films to further their understanding. Rich in imagery and visually stunning, this early feature by Peter Greenaway is unparalleled in its re-invention and challenge to narrative cinema of this or any time.
The screening of A Zed and Two Noughts on Wednesday 25 February will include a pre-recorded introduction by Justin Johnson, Head of Cinema Programme.
