On a rare trip to the city, a young Amish boy becomes the sole witness to a murder. When he identifies the perpetrator, the child and his mother become targets – as does the police detective in charge of the case, who soon finds refuge in their rural community. Harrison Ford scored his only Oscar nomination for his stirring performance as a man suddenly awakened to his own conscience and finding unexpected strength in vulnerability. This superlative crime thriller is also Weir’s most romantic film.
