We Crip Film Festival
Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 July
Roll up to We Crip Film Festival! Formerly known as Busting the Bias, we return during Disability Pride Month for a celebratory weekend of disabled filmmaking. Experience a curated collection of films, talks and industry workshops that declare the need for authentic representation on both sides of the camera. We Crip Film Festival is a reclamation by the disabled film community to champion our strength, creativity and ingenuity as we survive and thrive.
Marking 30 years since the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, this festival is an expression of disabled rage and joy as we reflect on the landscape of access and inclusion within the screen industries in 2025.
We Crip Film is the BFI’s intersectional disability advocacy group, who strongly believe in ‘nothing about us without us’. All film screenings will be relaxed and access provisions such as descriptive subtitles, audio description, BSL/English interpretation, live captions, quiet spaces and more will be provided.
We Crip Film Festival 2025 is programmed by Charlie Little and Tara Brown, with thanks to Oska Bright.
