Exotic dancer Angela wants to have a child. However, her partner Émile – a cycling enthusiast who enjoys riding around their apartment – is not ready for such a commitment, even if his friend Alfred is happy to take his place. With irreverent fourth-wall breaks and sparkling performances by Anna Karina and Jean-Paul Belmondo, the film finds Godard at his quirkiest and most charming.
