FBI agent Johnny Utah goes undercover to investigate a gang of surfers who are suspected of being behind a string of bank robberies. As he gets closer to cracking the case, an unlikely friendship with the gang’s charismatic spiritual leader threatens to tip his world into chaos. Kathryn Bigelow’s supremely entertaining film is one of the great Hollywood action thrillers.
