Pee-wee Herman is beside himself when his beloved red bicycle disappears. He suspects his enemy and neighbour, Francis Buxton, of being the culprit. Following his hunch proves unsuccessful, so he offers a large reward for the bike’s return and sets out on a journey to follow possible leads. Burton’s first feature film is a refreshing and quirky comedy that chronicles Pee-wee’s encounters with a wonderful array of characters.
