Murnau’s vampire classic remains one of the greatest of all horror movies, genuinely unsettling in its depiction of the wizened, barely human Transylvanian Count Orlok as a threat not only to a hitherto happily married couple but to bourgeois society and its devotion to scientific rationality. The supremely atmospheric camerawork is by the great Fritz Arno Wagner.
With Hans Erdmann score.
With live piano accompaniment by Neil Brand.
