This film is a landmark of collaborative Indigenous cinema in Brazil, moving away from the ‘individual heroic’ to embrace collective authorship. Through a poetic and formally adventurous lens, Indigenous filmmakers reflect on territory, displacement and belonging. By merging the vision of a master documentarian like Salles with the ancestral perspective of the Lakapoy Collective, the film proposes a new, political relationship between image and land.
