Sam, a lunar maintenance worker, is nearing the end of his solitary three-year mission. But a revelation makes him question the reality he lives in. Future BAFTA winner Jane Petrie’s costumes are understated but effective in capturing the film’s downbeat vision of the future, as well as reflecting Sam’s deteriorating body and psyche.
The screening of Moon on Wednesday 21 January will be introduced by Melanie Bell, Feminist Film Historian and Principal Investigator for the Film Costumes in Action project.
BFI Southbank will be closed Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 June due to a private event. There is currently no step-free access to the Mezzanine or Blue Room. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
