Meet Saira (Shabana Azeez, The Pitt), the anxious and introverted princess of Clitopolis, whose inability to summon the mythical labrys leaves her at odds with her famous mothers. When her ex-girlfriend Kiki is kidnapped by the Straight White Maliens, Saira steals a sentient “Problematic Ship” and sets off across the galaxy to rescue her. Along the way she forms unexpected friendships, confronts self-doubt and discovers that the power she seeks lies not in winning back a lost love, but in learning to value herself. Equal parts absurdist space opera and coming-of-age adventure, this delicious animation balances outrageous humour with genuine emotional warmth.
