Laura Mulvey and Peter Wollen: Towards Counter-Cinema
Laura Mulvey joins us to discuss Nicolas Helm-Grovas’ new book on the hugely influential writings of film theorists Mulvey and Peter Wollen.
- Total running time 90min
Laura Mulvey and Peter Wollen, major figures in film theory from the late 1960s, authored influential texts, including, respectively, Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema and The Two Avant-Gardes. We are delighted to welcome Laura Mulvey to discuss Nicolas Helm-Grovas’ book Laura Mulvey and Peter Wollen: Towards Counter-Cinema. It’s the first comprehensive study of their joint work and contributions to British counter-cinema, spanning feminism, psychoanalysis, Marxism and semiotics.
