Brother and sister Ali and Nasrine live a comfortable, middle-class life in Iran. But after Nasrine has a run-in with the police, their father decides to send them to the UK, forcing the siblings to grapple with the true meaning of freedom and agency. Shot in her signature naturalistic approach, Gharavi’s award-nominated drama is an ever-potent meditation on self-discovery, racial prejudice and immigration in the UK.
Contains scenes of violence and sexual assault.
