After his partner is killed in a shoot-out, police inspector ‘Tequila’ Yuen embarks on a vengeance-fuelled hunt for the gang responsible. The final film Woo made before heading to Hollywood is a dazzling calling card that cemented his status as the undisputed master of Hong Kong action cinema. Woo’s signature style is fully evident here: elegant, swirling, slow-motion camera work captures intricately choreographed fistfights and shootouts, while its two stars enjoy irresistible chemistry as reluctant partners learning to trust each other.
Contains graphic violence.
