Set within a wealthy, modern British Asian family, Karia’s latest collaboration with Ahmed finds the actor embracing Shakespeare’s tragic prince, who seeks to avenge his father. Having been aware that his family was torn apart by Claudius, Hamlet plots his revenge, even though his actions threaten his relationship with his girlfriend Ophelia. After their Oscar success with The Long Goodbye, Karia and Ahmed update Shakespeare’s play to stunning effect.
