Werner Herzog turns his camera on the passionate, fearless and extraordinarily eccentric Timothy Treadwell, who dedicated a good portion of his life living close to brown bears in one of Alaska’s national parks. Herzog corrals hours of footage shot be Treadwell to chronicle his life in the wild, his enthusiasm for the bears and the risks he took, which eventually ended in tragedy. Widely acknowledged as one of the best documentaries of the last 20 years, Grizzly Man is both a cautionary tale and a fascinating contemplation of our relationship with nature.
