Accessibility
We are committed to making the BFI Film on Film Festival as welcoming, inclusive and accessible as possible for everyone.
We offer a number of accessible screenings and events, and will make reasonable efforts to meet any additional requirements within available resources.
Accessible screenings at BFI Southbank
For Deaf visitors and those experiencing hearing loss:
- DS: Subtitles that include descriptions of non-dialogue audio
- BSL: British Sign Language interpreted introductions, Q&As and events
For customers who are blind or partially-sighted:
- AD: Films with an audio-description soundtrack with narration including descriptions of key visual elements. Headphones are available on request at the venue
Screenings for neurodivergent audiences, with their companions and assistants:
- Relaxed: Screenings where house lights will remain on a low level, the volume will be turned slightly down, and you will be able to make noise. There will also be a quiet space for you to use near the auditorium and you can leave and return at any point during the screening.
Subtitled screenings
You might also be interested in our subtitled screenings – these are films with on-screen English subtitles throughout. All subtitled screenings have either printed transcripts or live-captioning of their introductions.
