A family tragedy sees 13-year-old Amy leave her New Zealand home and join her eccentric inventor father in Canada. Shortly after arriving, she saves some geese eggs from a recently demolished wilderness area, becoming their surrogate mother. Despite the joy they bring to her, Amy hadn’t anticipated the responsibility of the undertaking, particularly when it’s time for the geese to migrate. This is a joyful tale, with a strong environmental message, from the director of The Black Stallion.
